HANDMADE SOFT FROG
Over the past couple of years, many of our followers have requested soft frog lures. Soft frogs are essential lures for our region, particularly due to the abundance of snakehead fishing spots. They are among the most versatile freshwater fishing lures available.
In response to these demands and recognizing the popularity of snakehead fishing in our region, we’ve decided to customize our own soft frog lures.
THE INSPIRATION
Drawing inspiration from nature is crucial, and we firmly believe that every creation of our baits should closely resemble living organisms to effectively attract predators. It’s not just about appearance; the action of the bait should also mimic that of a real frog, at the very least.
Driven by this belief, we are committed to offering fishing products that are unique, original, and truly one-of-a-kind.
Our development process for soft frogs is dedicated to capturing the essence of living frogs. From the tone and patterns to the texture of the soft frog skins, every detail is meticulously crafted to closely mimic the appearance and feel of actual frogs.
INTRODUCING
We’ve named our 40mm and 25mm soft frog lures “Ong Besau” and “Ong Kecik” respectively. These names carry a playful double meaning.
In our multiracial culture, “Ong” has various meanings, but for us, it signifies “Luck.” “Besau” means big, while “Kecik” means small. When combined, they represent “Big Luck” and “Small Luck” respectively.
Through these names, we aim to bring a sense of fun to fishing, encouraging anglers to wish for big luck and big fish during their adventures.
Our soft frog lures are crafted from high-quality soft rubber material, providing a natural and lifelike texture to the body.
With a wide range of color and pattern choices, along with impressive detail finishing, these lures offer anglers versatility and realism to attract even the most discerning predators.

THE DIFFERENCE
FIRST GENERATION SOFT FROG
The Ong Besau soft frog offers versatile fishing options, suitable for surface and sinking presentations. When retrieved, its legs produce a seductive pedaling action, enticing predators with lifelike movement. Additionally, the spinner blade enhances the lure’s sinking action for a slow descent.
The two legs serve as the main attraction, creating vibrations and long bubbles that attract predators. Anglers can adjust the presentation by removing the legs for a more subtle approach or leaving them intact for added action. The lure’s design allows for customization, making it adaptable to various fishing conditions and preferences.
NEW GENERATION SOFT FROG
Introducing the new (currently fourth) generation Ong-Ong Besau, an improved version of its predecessor based on valuable customer feedback. We’ve made several enhancements, including adjusting the weight to approximately 6g, removing the legs to enhance casting experience, and refining the body shape for improved casting distance and accuracy.
As for the new generation Ong-Ong Kecik we tweak the shape slightly to improve the casting distance and play with different range of eyes color to create different mood.
Both Ong-Ong Besau and Ong-Ong Kecik come with two latest color version. For Black Mamba we added scramble surface and we add up Poison Dart as a new color replacing previous version Flame Orange.
The centralized weights of the lure facilitate long-distance casting, making it suitable for various fishing techniques. In addition to swimming the lure on the surface and sub-surface, anglers can let it sink to the bottom and employ bouncing or twitching motions, similar to fishing with a soft plastic worm. This technique is effective in both snag-filled areas and open waters.
The Ong Kecik soft frog shares similar features with its larger counterpart, with the exception of the absence of legs. This smaller size is ideal for targeting smaller snakeheads and fishing spots where subtle movements are necessary. Matching the hatch with smaller lures can often yield impressive results, proving that size isn’t always the determining factor in attracting big fish.
LIFELIKE FEATURES
The surface crumble texture and segmented body of the soft frog enhance its ability to produce vibrations during retrieval.
These features create a lifelike appearance, attracting and triggering natural predatory instincts in fish, ultimately enticing them to strike.
TARGET SPECIES
For natural anglers, the versatility of soft frogs opens up a world of fishing opportunities. Target species primarily include various snakehead species such as Haruan (Common Snakehead), Bujuk (Forest Snakehead), Kerandang (Emperor Snakehead), Haruan Palas (Black Snakehead), Kedak (Dwarf Snakehead), and even Toman (Giant Snakehead).
However, the appeal of soft frogs extends beyond snakeheads. Anglers can also experiment with targeting other fish species known to attack top water lures. With their lifelike appearance and enticing action, soft frogs are effective in enticing strikes from a wide range of predatory fish.
