Landing a Toman / Giant Snakehead is never an easy task, especially when the fight happens around heavy cover. For Wawan, this battle demanded focus, timing, and full trust in his setup. Using a combination of 30lb braid paired with a 40lb braid, he was able to maintain control from the very first strike.
When the Toman exploded on the lure, the immediate challenge was stopping its powerful run before it reached structure. The braid responded instantly, transferring every movement and allowing Wawan to react without hesitation. During the fight, the lines held firm under pressure, absorbing sudden surges and aggressive head shakes without failure.
What made the difference wasnāt brute force, but control – the ability to steer the fish, apply pressure at the right moments, and stay calm throughout the battle. The strength and reliability of the lines gave Wawan the confidence to stay committed until the fish was finally landed. A true reminder that when skill meets dependable gear, even the fiercest predators can be conquered.
